San Clemente Police Services is comprised of one Lieutenant who acts as Chief of Police Services, five Sergeants, 3 Investigators, 2. School Resource Deputy, and one Community Liaison Deputy. There are nine professional staff members including one staff assistant, four Community Services Officers, three office support personnel, and one Crime Prevention Specialist. Together they provide law enforcement services that include patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, parking enforcement, community support, crime prevention, and police records services at the San Clemente station. In addition to patrol, San Clemente Police Services also fields a Special Enforcement Team that is comprised of two deputies who work specialized enforcement and pertinent crime issues in the city. The Special Enforcement Team works with area probation and parole officers to monitor those on probation or parole status who reside in San Clemente. San Clemente also contributes one deputy to the regional Directed Enforcement Team that works from the south Orange County regional station in Aliso Viejo. This Directed Enforcement Team is comprised of deputies from most south Orange County cities and they work collectively to assist investigators with complex criminal investigations, covert surveillance operations, youth violence, gang suppression, and other specific crime related problems that arise in the South Operations area.
